On September 22nd, the 2024 Qingyuan Liannan Rice Field Fish Cultural Festival officially commenced at Sanjiangyuan. A variety of activities, including rice field fish catching, agricultural family experiences, Yao ethnic cultural performances, and agricultural product exhibitions, have attracted tens of thousands of visitors to partake in the joy of the Yao ethnic group's autumn harvest. It is reported that rice-fish farming is a traditional farming method in the Yao ethnic areas of Liannan, which also possesses excellent breeding foundations and favorable production conditions for the development of rice-fish farming.

At the opening ceremony, the spirited long drum dance and folk dances with distinctive ethnic charm fully demonstrated the traditional style of Yao ethnic culture. Subsequently, more than ten thousand people rushed into the Sanjiang River to start the fish-catching battle.

Mr. Zheng, who came from Zhejiang, expressed his delight at catching a 2.5-kilogram fish during his first visit to Liannan for the event. He is very happy and enjoys this kind of activity that allows for personal participation and experience, stating that he would definitely participate again if given the opportunity.

Since 2007, Liannan has been carrying out integrated rice-fish and rice-shrimp cultivation demonstration promotion every year, distributing free fish and shrimp fry to farmers, cooperatives, and other new types of agricultural operating entities. By initiating the "Rice Field Fish Culture Festival", it has deeply integrated the development of characteristic ecological agriculture and ethnic tourism, establishing the rice field fish brand, thereby driving agricultural development and promoting farmers' income increase.

The fish-catching experience activity is not only at the main venue. From September 7th to October 7th, tourists are invited to partake in the self-guided Yaoshan Mountain Fish Fun activities across various villages in Liannan, including Daguao Village, Junliu Village, Zhongping Village in Daping Town, and Yanbei Village in Sanjiang Town, and Nangang Village in Sanpai Town (Millennium Yaozhai). These venues offer special areas for catching fish and barbecuing on-site, allowing tourists to experience fish catching while enjoying the beautiful scenery of the terraced fields in Liannan.

清远连南稻田鱼文化节盛大开幕，数万游客共享秋收的喜悦

9月22日，2024年清远连南稻田鱼文化节在三江源水上瑶台开幕。捉稻田鱼、农事亲子体验活动、瑶族文艺汇演、农产品展销等一系列活动吸引数万游客前来体验瑶族秋收的喜悦。据悉，稻田养鱼是连南瑶族地区传统耕作方式，该产业在连南具有良好养殖基础和生产条件。

开幕式现场，奔放的长鼓舞和独具民族风韵的民间舞蹈，尽显瑶族特色文化的传统风格。逾万名游客和群众冲入三江河里，开启抓鱼大战。

从浙江来的郑先生表示，第一次来连南参加活动，喜提5斤大鱼，非常开心！很喜欢这种可以亲身参与体验的活动项目，下次有机会还会再来参加。

从2007年开始，连南每年开展稻渔稻虾综合种养示范推广工作，购买稻田鱼苗、虾苗免费赠送给农民、合作社等新型农业经营主体。开创“稻田鱼文化节”，深度融合特色生态农业和民族旅游业发展，打响了稻田鱼品牌，从而带动了农业发展，促进农民增收。

抓鱼体验活动不仅在主会场，自9月7日-10月7日，游客朋友还可以到大坪镇大古坳村、军寮村、中坪村以及三江镇沿陂村、三排镇南岗村（千年瑶寨），参与自主体验的瑶山渔趣活动，该会场设有专门的游客下田抓鱼、现场烧烤体验区，在抓鱼的同时也可以一览连南梯田美景。
